Apple recently issued a recall of older generation 15-inch MacBook Pro units which contain a battery that may overheat and pose a safety risk. The models being recalled were sold from September 2015 through September 2017 and the recall does not affect any other 15-inch MacBook Pro units or other Mac notebooks.

Is your MacBook Pro part of the recall?

• Confirm which model you have by choosing About This Mac from the Apple menu (?) in the upper-left corner of your screen
• If you have “MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015),” enter your computer’s serial number here to see if your model is recalled
• If it is indeed part of the recall, stop using it and head here to find out how to have the battery replaced, free of charge.
